As the semester comes to an end, many students are preparing for graduation. With this being a stressful time, Brigham Young University-Idaho has given their students several opportunities and materials that help them prepare for the future.
The career services center, located in the Kimball building, is the place to go to find information on the internship registration process and how to jump start a career by attending an upcoming expedition. There you can sign up for practice interviews, and resume reviews.
The career service office explains that it is important to make yourself more marketable, and seek after good internships that will prepare you to enter the work force. Employers are looking for professionals with experience. Knowing this, Brigham Young University-Idaho provides these services to help us gain that experience. Our responsibility is to actually seek after and acquire it.
Barbara Thompson, the professional coordination counselor on campus advices students to research the company they want to apply for and make themselves marketable for it. She said,” Once you find that job that you want, develop skills and talents that will appeal to the company. “
As students begin to think about graduation, they should attend career fairs and utilize the opportunities that Brigham Young University-Idaho has provided for us.
